Solid Beginnings Institute has a couple of pre-school branches in Birch Acres and Edleen, Kempton Park. The ECD centres provide high-quality early learning foundations and childhood development for children from 3 months to school going

age. Our classes are divided by age, and we carefully control the number of children per class to ensure maximum care and safety. We also have early drop-off times and different aftercare options tailored to suit different individual needs.

Enriched by integration of rich ECD curricula (The National Curriculum Framework, Montessori and Reggio Emilia) our early childhood development approach is centred around Early Learning and Development Areas (ELDAs), which focus on holistic development rather than rigid milestones. This allows children to learn through playing at their own pace, feeling

encouraged rather than pressured. Through guided play and creativity, our teachers and assistants ensure each child engages meaningfully with the ELDAs.

That’s why our preschool program emphasizes loose-parts play—using open-ended materials instead of single-purpose toys. This approach encourages exploration, creativity, and discovery through stacking, sorting, building, and more.

Small Class Sizes for Personalized Attention
Children thrive with individual care, so we keep classes small—10 to 25 students,

depending on age. Each class is supported by teachers and assistants, ensuring your child receives the attention they need to flourish in a loving environment.

Engaging Activities for Growth

Our daily schedule is filled with fun, development-focused activities that blend play and learning. We also offer optional extramural activities (swimming, Soccer Starz and ballet) at an additional small cost to further develop specific skills. Led by expert coaches, these sessions take place on-site and are tailored to your child’s interests.
